Overview

What shapes the way people in Gurgaon buy branded clothing, and how much do promotional offers sway that decision? This study sets out to understand the buying behaviour of regular purchasers of branded apparel in the city, looking closely at the various factors that lie behind their choices and the pull of promotions.

The research is descriptive, drawing on primary data from 144 respondents through a questionnaire, supported by secondary material gathered from websites, journals, and books. To meet its objectives, it applies chi-square analysis alongside descriptive statistics for the demographic profile, testing how the various influencing factors and promotional activities relate to the actual purchase behaviour of branded-apparel buyers in the city.

The study concludes that there are significant relationships between a consumer's age and where they choose to buy, between the various influencing factors and their purchase plans, and between satisfaction levels and branded purchases. Together these point to a buying process in which demographics, influences, and satisfaction are closely and consistently connected for branded-apparel shoppers.
